Who can get an exemption from Modules 1–4?

Modified on Mon, 9 Mar at 9:17 AM

Those undertaking training in later surgical procedures must be competent in the earlier gestation procedures. Competence in earlier gestations can be demonstrated by completion of the relevant sections in the CSRH or RCOG curriculum. With Specialty Doctors who are not on a training programme, a declaration should be obtained from their Supervising Consultant.

Those who are undertaking CSRH specialty training are exempt from completing Modules 1 to 4, as the content of these modules is included in the CSRH curriculum. To apply for Module 5 or 6, their application will require a statement from their Educational Supervisor to confirm that they have met the equivalent CiPs to Modules 1 to 4 in relation to abortion care through their CSRH training.

CSRH trainees may choose to use Modules 1 to 4 as part of structuring their training and to secure an appropriate Principal Trainer.
