How do I sign up for the course to become a College Registered Trainer (CRT)?

We are reviewing options to make your pathway to becoming a College Registered Trainer (CRT). Currently CoSRH is not running any courses that lead to the medical education or accreditation requirements to become a CRT.

In the meantime, the information below may be helpful

Already completed medical education training or accreditation?

If you have already completed medical education training or accreditation, you can check against the Academy of Medical Educators (AoME) list of Accredited Courses and AccreditationPlus Courses to see whether the course/training you have completed is accredited by them. This is because we accept many (but not all) of these course that AoME has approved as valid towards a CRT application. Not yet completed any medical education training or accreditation?

For potential CRT applicants who do not yet have an medical education training or accreditation, the most frequent course that applicants have completed is the Academy of Medical Educators (AoME) accredited Educational and Clinical Supervisor training from Miad Healthcare.

Miad Healthcare run these courses regularly throughout the year, but please note that it must be the AoME accredited version of the course (as above) that you complete. They do run other versions of Educational and Clinical Supervisor training that are not accredited and we are not able to accept those. We are not recommending this course, but we have included the information as it is the one that potential CRTs most frequently ask about and present to us.

Please do contact us again with the details of the course you have undertaken in the past five years, or plan to undertake, and include link to the full details of the course, with the following information:

the name of the university or institution
the full name of the course
the full module details for the course, including aim and learning full details of outcomes, level (for example Level 7), indicative course content and topics studied as part of the course, assessment details (.i.e. assessed by coursework, portfolio, essay, written or viva examination, or combination).
If it is a course you have completed then please include any course feedback (including marks) that you received, and your certificate.
