What does continuous membership mean?

Modified on Tue, 16 Jun at 5:20 PM

When you are awarded one of our primary qualifications* and join membership of the College (Associate, Diplomate, Member (MCSRH) and Fellow), you must maintain that membership every year, so that you can benefit from free recertification of your qualification every 5 years.

The CoSRH Council believes that membership of the CoSRH, and therefore access to the latest clinical guidance, standards, Journal, CPD questions and regular updates, is an important part of the recertification process. CoSRH is a registered charity and is able to provide its services through the payment of membership subscriptions.

The continuous membership policy forms part of our terms and conditions, section 13 ‘Recertification of CoSRH qualifications’, which can be found here  It does not apply to Candidate, Affiliate and Retired memberships because they are not linked to gaining a primary qualification.

Should your membership lapse and you come to recertify, our continuous membership policy applies, and we will ask you to pay back the lapsed year(s) to bring your membership up to date (at the current membership year rate, up to a maximum of five years).

If you cancel your membership with CoSRH and come back to recertify your qualification at a later date, our continuous membership policy applies and we will ask you to pay back the missing year(s) of your membership fees (at the current membership year rate, up to a maximum of five years).

*primary qualifications are Diploma, LoC (SDI/IO/IUT) and MCSRH. Fellow (FCSRH) members are those who have gained the MCSRH).
